Undoubtedly, Library plays a pivotal role in the academics of an educational institution.
Library is universally admitted as the back bone of a civilized and literary society. We are proud to be facilitating and supporting the readers, researchers, learners, students and faculty members at Central Library of GC Balakot. We have the collection of over 8000 books of diverse titles as per stock registers, serving more than 1200 registered library users. The books of each subject, discipline and title are separately arranged in relevant cupboards and racks which eases the reproducibility of any desired book to the searcher. It reflects the ideal situation of Library Management at this college.
The provision of HED sponsored Digital Library facility is under process for this college. Our aim is to develop the most effective and easy lending system of text books, reference books, periodicals, newspapers, atlases, magazines, selected sources of current affairs disseminating knowledge according to the needs of library users.
Our zealous, professional and skillful library staff always remains on toes to provide the required materials and to help library users by utilizing the advantages of computer technology. Students, researchers and faculty members feel themselves at ease while sitting and reading in the peaceful environment of central library congenial to cognitive activities. The library staff is cooperative and supportive. It always warmly welcomes and gladly helps the users during off and on hours. We expect that users are fully benifited and avail maximum opportunities in quenching their knowledge thirst from this home of knowledge.
Sitting Principal, Prof. Syed Abdul Wajid Shah is striving to his level best in strengthening the central library of this college by fulfilling the genuine demands. He has initiated correspondence with high ups of HED regarding approval of budget for construction of a fully facilitated independent central library unit in the college campus beside multipurpose hall and BS Block which will help in extending and strengthening the BS System. Allocation of budget for purchasing maximum No of books relevent to on going BS disciplines is also the genuine demand of this excelling institution. Advent of College’s own Wall Calendar and publication of own News Letter and College Magazine have supplemented the academic activities. Principal has ever been patronizing the central library by providing library related materials on priority basis. I am convinced that under kind leadership of sitting Principal, GC Balakot in general and its Central Library in special will make progress by leaps and bounds with in short time.
